Valerie Mayén, fashion designer (Yellowcake) and nonprofiteer (Buzz & Growl), was on hand to help us celebrate and delivered a pep talk aimed at other social innovators looking to do well by doing good in Cleveland. With the city's "scrappy" can-do attitude and deep commitment to and history of philanthropic investments in innovative ideas, she offered an open invitation to "creative class members" everywhere to consider building their creative enterprises in Cleveland, where she has experienced a groundswell of support for her work.
