The Social Sector:
Partnering to Make Our Communities Stronger
The Social Sector in Cleveland is highly dynamic. For a community of our size, we are fortunate to have organizations that engage the Sector in a variety of ways and from numerous vantage points. The collective strength of these groups helps to ensure an informed and engaged community with respect to philanthropic and nonprofit work.
Throughout the course of the next year, I will periodically highlight this dynamic work and discuss the Foundation Center’s relationship to it:
Philanthropy Ohio is a statewide membership association that provides the network, tools and knowledge to help people engaged in philanthropy become more effective, powerful change agents in their communities. This is achieved through: Educating, Informing, Convening, Advocating and Connecting.
The Foundation Center partners with Philanthropy Ohio on strategic visioning for the Sector through its Advisory Board functions. Additionally, John Gest, Managing Director of Philanthropy Ohio’s Northeast Ohio office, serves on the Foundation Center’s Advisory Board.
