We Celebrate Summer with a Social and Book Sale

This past June, Foundation Center Midwest Library held its first annual Summer Social featuring keynote speakers Kristi Andrasik from Cleveland Foundation and Michael R. White from Neighborhood Leadership Development Program. Almost a hundred people attended and took part in networking and speed meeting sessions with local philanthropic and nonprofit experts. They also participated in workshops which showcased Foundation Center knowledge services including Foundation Directory Online and Foundation Maps, along with learning super-secret search tips and tricks.  Plus, the attendees got first-hand access to the Library’s biggest book sale ever!

The Library’s book sale, still ongoing, features a variety of texts from fields including but not limited to budgeting, foundations, fundraising, grantwriting, law, philanthropic history, and starting a nonprofit. There are even books in relation to finding scholarships, financial aid, and fellowships for college students, artists, and researchers. All materials cost $1 and the proceeds go toward new acquisitions for the library collection. Come in and see what treasure you may find!
